...GrapeVine...
Located just opposite Katong Mall, this nicely-furnished chill-out place complete with sofas and cushions, low tables, dim lights, music playing softly in the background, gave me such cozy feeling upon my first step into the place..
Wondering what I was doing at Katong Mall when I'm staying at the north western part of Singapore? Simple - The power of an interview at Katong Mall..
Anywayz, Jem came to K.M to meet me after his tuition @ Pasir Ris.. Cute guy, not as tanned as I saw from the pics at Friendster.. Oh, he was the one who suggested Grapevine actually.. We went upstairs to sit as it was a smoking section.. A TV (in front of us) and a projector screen behind us were showing the highlights of the World Cup, a couple was enjoying their pool session at the table near the windows onlooking the road.
Jem wanted to get the burger but too bad, they don't have it.. Heehee~ In e end, we ordered 2 baked rice, cold honey lemon for me and camomile tea for him.. Not too long later, our drinks came.. Mine was in a nice jug, like that of NYDC's.. His was a teapot with a small teeny weeny cup, like that of a tealight candle holder.. Our baked rice came.. Mushrooms, chicken and diced carrots topped with mozzarella cheeseeee.. Awesome and priced just right @ $7.80.. Jem was way hungry and ordered a basket of fries.. That was way salty..
Adryan came over to join us after his trip at Chinatown.. It was a nice catch up for him and Jem as well as for both Adryan and I too.. Haven't seen each other for some time.. It was actually a nite with two sick men.. Both of them had fever before coming out, Jem's subsided in the afternoon though while Adryan looked damn sickly.. Chitter chatter began as each of us provided an update on our lives for the past years..
1120pm came and it was time to head home.. Cab was the only transport available (to me, that is) and ciao.. It was Home Sweet Home for me..
