Dayang Trip 14 ~ 16 Jul 2006

Kimmy and I met up @ Causeway Point for dinner. Ms Kimmy had craving for salad while I had craving for any kind of seafood. Mr ZY came to join us for dinner too and had a craving for meat. To satisfy all three cravings, dinner was @ Jack's Place.

Meeting place was Kranji MRT Station. We bumped into Lena on e MRT and went to the meeting point together. E 3 girls hopped into Alphonsus' car along with Irene in the front while ZY, JX, Diane and Mic went along with Alex's car. Poor Lester went with the mini-van all by himself n e company of an orange walkie which is linked to us.. *wink*

There was this HUGE gadget on the dashboard of Alf's car and to my knowledge, it's a GPS gadget to lead us from Kranji to Mersing jetty.. Well actually, he didn't really need to use it.. He said he can drive there blind-folded! (but that wasn't what he did, of course)

The drive up to Mersing jetty was a sweet 2hours.. However, for the few of us that are hyperactive and can't sit still.. We decided to take a few funny shots as an entertainment.. The cars reached the jetty earlier than the mini-van and being hungry Singaporeans, we chilled out at a nearby kopitiam for a plate of beef kway teow and drinks.. Oh! And look what Lena found at the kopitiam! Red ants infested lizard.. EEEWWWWWWWW!!!

E mini-van came, everyone loaded their stuff onto this teeny weeny speedboat (had to do a transfer as it was low tide). The ride on e speedboat was fun! Woohoo~ E killer was when we got to the big boat.. E water was freaking CHOPPY!!! Diane couldn't really take it and filled 3 plastic bags with her... erm...puke? I fell asleep for an hour in e aircon cabin until I couldn't take it and went upstairs to e open deck to have a wee bit of fresh air.. Fell asleep there and come 5am, we stepped foot on Dayang! Our accommodation was a teeny weeny hut complete with 2 double decker beds, a toilet, ol skool light switch, a bulb & 2 fans.. Aircon was shared together with Diane's room which was just next to us.. Cool..

The whole trip was just snorkelling, swimming, tanning, eating for meself, Kimmy & Lena! Hahahaha! Sleep was less than 12 hours throughout this trip, I think.. The sun's great! The sand's soft! The water's clear! The underwater scenary (through my wonderful mask) was simply unbelievable and made me wanna get my Open Water license FAST!!!

Heehee~ I did a checkout dive together with Kimmy to get a feel of scuba diving.. (Mario was paired with me while Alf was paired with Kim) at the depth of 3m. Heehee~ Not very deep though but was ENOUGH to make me scream and go mad! Hahahaha~ I chased fishy in a bid to touch them.. So exciting!!! Hahaha~ It's not all fun though 'coz I descended too fast and hurt my eardrums.. OUCH! Had to rest a bit before I could go down again.. This time, I reminded myself to equalize every now and then..

Time passed damn fast!!!! Hahaha!!!! Fun we had aplenty along with injuries too.. Hahaha!! Kimmy had a big bruise on her thigh, Lena got a cut at the area between her eyebrows (all thanks to Kimmy and her skipping pebbles stunt while I got cut on my big toe as well as some scratches on the knee..

16 July came and it was time to bid farewell to this simple and relaxed village.. We left Dayang at 12noon and began our long boat journey back to Mersing.. *yawns*
