singapore 11 - laos 0

at this very place that opened its doors in 1973 n soon to become a flat piece of land, i went with him to watch e match between singapore n laos of e asean football championship.. it has been something that i've always wanted to do! an experience at a 'live' soccer match n watching it from e gallery of e national stadium.. e bonus was, he was there.. priceless.. :)

b4 e match, we were @ ps s i had to pass kimmy her designs (nt sure if mine will help at all).. anyhows we went to carrefour to get 2 pizzas n a carton of fruit juice n went on our journey to kallang.. we reached there about 2015hrs whereas e match started @ 2000hrs.. by e time we reached there, it was already 1-0, w singapore leading..

we got comfortable w our gallery seatings n dished out our dinner of pizzas n fruit juice.. s e clock ticks its way to 2045hrs, e laos players were trying w all their might to keep our singapore players at bay but then again, it was to no avail.. singapore was leading abt 4 or 5 goals at e end of e 1st half.. wow.. i was bewildered.. i didn't know singapore was that good.. hhmmmm..

2nd half came n it became more interesting.. goals were being let in s though it was free.. hahaha~ nah, not dat bad.. i muz say e singapore players did put in some marvellous tactics and strategies to b leading e game.. there was a point whereby 2 goals were put in by singapore in a matter of seconds! look at e pics, strain ur eyes @ e clock n ul noe wat i mean..



anyhowz, e fun came in during e 2nd half! spectators were jeering, laughing, scolding at every single thing their eyes spotted.. it was so damn funny.. there were aiyahs! wa laoz!! oeis!! everytime singapore didn't manage to score one.. hahahaha! really great experience! he was jeering n getting all energized abt e match s well.. :p

e stadium wasn't dat packed.. only a mere 6,000 spectators.. n opposite us were wat he proclaim them s singapore die-hard fans, all decked in red n armed w clappers along w e singapore flag!!! we could hear them clearly!!! hahaha!! they, though a rather small group of about 30, provided e atmosphere n motivation that our local players may need..

b4 heading back, i took some photos of this singapore icon which had been e place for many major events such as our national day parades. this place i've seen when i was juz a little girl to wat i m now.. sad to see it go but we've gotta make way for new things.. a multi-purpose sports hub.. another initiative to attract events to be held here, e dot in e world map..
