national.day

tml's national day! woohoo! i'm gng to e parade!!! keke~ i've always liked gng to e parade!! it's juz so ... ... ... erm, national day! haha~ e atmosphere is totally different fr staring at e box! having attended parades at national stadium and e floating platform, i wld definitely choose for e parade to be held at e former.. smhw, e feel is different too when it's being held at e floating platform.. =)

to celebrate e nation's bday, one would have noticed that our neighbourhood are decked out in a sea of red n white, flying our nation's flag.. but wait.. did e residents actually fly those flags?? well, maybe i shld ask - did u fly ur flag? i DID! keke~ it's saddening to see hw lesser units flying their flags nowadays.. it's usually e grls that do e work of tying all those flags.. hhmmm, wat happened? is it bcoz no one knows where to get e flag? or is it no one knows we can even fly e flag?? or is it we are juz plain lazy???

while we take pains to plan our loved one's bday or that of ours, we kinda forgot to put in e effort to at least show that we are in a celebratory mood.. hw sad.. it's juz flying e flag outside our units and probably be decked in red / white on 9 august.. but hw many pple do that now?

i rem when we were in school, we had nday celebrations.. but when we enter poly n then uni n then workforce, where did all these observance or celebrations go to? shldn't we still celebrate our nation's bday? or probably just to observe this once a year moment by singing e national anthem or reciting e pledge? (well, i had that thought when i saw throngs of students wearing red last friday and compared to e dressing of e pple at my office..)

that sparked an idea to me.. maybe we shld follow e thai culture - they wear either pink or yellow on mondays in respect for their king.. we cld do e same - wearing red on mondays! heehee~ juz a wild thought..

but i hope fellow singaporeans wld start to love n b proud of this very nation that mould us to who we are today..
