singapore

was chatting over lunch w my two colleagues abt e national costume of msu.. e conversation brought up some questions in my mind.. wat is considered a national costume for singapore? japan has a kimono.. china e cheongsam.. korean e hanbok.. wat abt us? maybe i'm shallow but i dun recall knowing that we have a national costume.. e only costume that i know it's well-known, is e kebaya of our sg gers.. anyone in sg can recognise that costume of sg gers.. but is that our national costume? hhmmm..

then i recalled an article that i read in e papers mths ago.. it was talking about buildings in sg n which architectural building is unique to singapore.. kl has e twin towers, sydney has e opera house.. singapore? e esplanade??? even e iconic, national stadium is due to be demolised soon.. where is our identity? mayb raffles hotel? i dunno.. i juz feel sad that our icons are being demolised.. places are being renamed juz bcoz management has changed.. schools being torn down..

it's sad that i can't bring my kids to e front of national stadium n share w them hw exciting and fun it was to b part of e kallang wave..

it's sad that i can't bring my kids to my secondary school n share w them my experiences and all e notty deeds that i did..

it's sad that i can't bring my kids to a sand playground to let them have a feel of wat playing in a sand playground is like..

*sigh*

owells..
