oran-janna
was @ my bro's place yesterday and while i was lazing on e couch w baby.. my niece walked into the kitchen and walked out w a bottle of orangina.. she held it carefully - right hand supporting e base while e left hand grabbed e neck of e bottle.. she walked into her bedroom and asked her mum if she could drink e bottle of orangina.. mum said ok and she walked out..
she didn't immediately walked to e sofa n opened it to enjoy e drink but went into e kitchen.. her brother, my nephew followed.. o, btw.. my niece @ jan is 4 this year and nephew @ jus is 7.. i heard them whispering, "this is for gu gu" and "that is for mummy". after some time, jus came out w a half-filled cup and offered to me, saying "this is for u, gu gu" and walked back into the kitchen. i thought to myself, "oh.. how sweet of them to share e orangina w me n even poured a cup for me". i took a sip.. hhmmm.. tasted like orangina but then it tasted diluted.. i told baby, "they must have mixed it with water.."
the next moment, jus came out w another cup and this time, offered to their uncle des.. he tasted it too and agreed w me.. jan n jus were beaming from cheek to cheek while looking at us finishing e drink.. out of curiosity, i had a little conversation w jan to find out more abt e diluted orangina..
s: wat drink is this?
j: it's orangina
s: oh, did you add anything to it?
(jan looked stunned n gave e m-i-gonna-get-a-scolding look)
s: it's ok, i just want to know
(sigh of relief from jan)
j: i put water..
s: why did u put water?
j: so that there's more..
(i was snooked at this point)
s: very clever, jan! u added water to e orangina so you would have more!
j: i put e water n kor kor (referring to jus) helped me serve..
simply amazing.. trust her to think of such logic at such a young age.. she probably saw some adult mixing drinks w water but it was probably syrup w water n not orangina.. another amazing thing, her portions were mixed very well.. we could still taste e orangina in that concoction of hers.. clever her, juz filled e cup halfway - probably to make it easier for her bro to serve or she knew her mixture was enough for half-filled cup..
n so in e end, she still has that bottle of orangina while baby n i had 2 half-filled cups of oran-janna to enjoy.. hahahaha!!!
